October 27, 2007...Pay It Forward Community Service Project Launches!

 

 

We are proud to announce that the SYC will be a host site for National Make A Difference Day

 

Saturday October 27, 2007

10am - 12pm in the gymnasium of the Schooner Youth Center!

 

Our goal for this day is to kick-off a year long youth community service initiative called "Pay It Forward" where youth groups, adult mentors and community leaders will work together to develop youth-led projects to better our community of Monessen and surrounding Mon-Valley. Small grants in the $100 range will be awarded to each youth team to accomplish their own unique youth-led community service projects.

Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. The day is the largest community service effort in the nation, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action on one day. Light refreshements will be served!
